Middle Distance Team Captain
Alex Ewart
Alex’s mission is to help swimmers and triathletes get out of pain and help them transform their performance. Alex started swimming when he was 8 years old at a local summer pool and fell in love with swimming instantly. Soon after, he began year-round swimming for a local club team and then eventually joined Eagle Swim Team. At Eagles, his passion for swimming took off. He was obsessed with swimming. With any free time, he was looking at the latest swimming news, looking up swimming results, and trying to find any information he could on how the top swimmers trained. His club coach once told his mom that he looked at SwimSwam every day before practice to be prepared in case Alex asked him about any recent events in the swimming world. Alex went on to swim at Boston University and served as captain his senior year. During his summers, Alex would coach summer swimming and really enjoyed the process of helping swimmers reach their goals. It was then he decided to combine his passion for movement science and swimming, and to become a physical therapist that specializes in the treatment of swimmers, triathletes, and other endurance athletes. Since finishing his swimming career he has started racing triathlons. Alex has had tremendous success applying what he’s learned from swimming to other endurance sports as well as applying what he learned from biking/running to swimming. Alex currently treats patients in person at Life Strength Physical Therapy in Towson, Maryland. When Alex first introduced himself to S.E.T. cofounder, Henry, Alex, said, “One of your youth athletes told me about S.E.T. triathlon, and after learning a little bit I knew I had to get involved. I think what you are doing is awesome!” We feel the same way about you Alex!
