Nick Fischer
(Travel & High School Team Assistant Coach)

Nick Fischer works as a registered dietitian in a clinical setting. He is board certified in sports dietetics (1/19 in the state of Maryland) and is a USA Cycling Coach. His first professional job was with the Pittsburgh Marathon. Nick and his team developed Kids of Steel, a youth program aimed at getting more kids into running and general healthy living. Kids of Steel developed quickly and was voted the 2015 Junior Running Program of the Year. This program then allowed Nick and his team of staff and volunteers to develop Project RUN (Reaching Underserved Neighborhoods).
Project RUN put resources into high need areas to help teach youth and their community members about opportunities they aren't often exposed to. Nick and his team led weekly programs to teach realistic and cost-effective ways to achieve healthy living. For many years, Nick provided coaching and nutrition education at USA Cycling talent ID camps. He continues to serve at an annual triathlon and running team camp in Arkansas, where he is flown out to help with youth and adults. In addition to being a USA Cycling Coach, Nick also raced competitively on a cycling team. He is excited to get back to his roots of youth coaching.
